NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating whether MS-13 gang members have been tagging various buildings in Queens in recent days, including homes, a church and a school.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Academy and Church in Bayside released surveillance video showing a man in what appears to be a skull mask outside the institution.

Photos released by the academy show the apparent MS-13 tag, in black spray paint, on an entrance door to the building.

“Our church and school were vandalized by someone who spray-painted MS-13 by the main entrances,” the academy wrote on Facebook Sunday. “It happened sometime during the night. The NYPD was on hand for Sunday Masses today to investigate the vandalism and to ensure everyone's safety.”

The tags are part of a disturbing trend in Bayside—similar graffiti has been showing up on homes and fences in the neighborhood, as well as a corner pharmacy, according to WCBS-TV.

One resident told the station it was “very frightening.”

No arrests have been made.
