Police investigate 2 women slashed in NYC in non-related incidents

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- NYPD are investigating two non-related slashing incidents occurred within an hour of each other in NYC and both times the victims were female.

Police say that at approximately 11:00 p.m. in Sunnyside, Queens on Wednesday, a 27-year-old female was slashed through the face by an unknown male.

The cause of the slashing is currently unknown, but it may have occurred after an an apparent dispute.

The male suspect had fled the scene by the time cops showed up.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and is in stable condition.

A female in Chelsea was also slashed in the face at 257 West 29th Street early Thursday police say.

Officials say the incident occurred a little after midnight.

It is currently unknown whether she was attacked by a male or a female.

The victim was taken to area hospital and is stable condition.

There have been no arrests made in either incident.
