NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police in Yonkers are investigating what they believe was an attempted murder-suicide involving Westchester County correction officers that ended in a shootout.

One man is dead and another man and woman are wounded, at least one of them critically, according to police.

All three were Westchester correction officers, police said.

The wounded man and woman are in a relationship, and the man who died was the woman’s ex-boyfriend, according to police.

Authorities say the man who died broke into a home on Buckingham Road, where the other two were Friday night.

A confrontation ensued in which all three used their guns, police said, but the shooter ultimately died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The shooter has been identified as 40-year-old Edward Quinoy of Tarrytown.

The other man and woman’s names have not been released. They were taken to the Westchester Medical Center.

Police say they recovered several handguns at the scene.
