Police arrest son accused of fatally shooting mother in the head in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have a 43-year-old man in custody accused of fatally shooting his 63-year-old mother in the head in Brooklyn on Monday.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 8 p.m, inside the Sumner Houses located at 896 Park Avenue in the Bed-Stuy area.

The woman was rushed to Woodhull Hospital where she died. 

She was later identified by police as Debra White of Brooklyn.

The Daily News identified the shooter as Jason Argentina.

The report says that the son phoned a friend after the incident and told him what occurred.

The friend told the shooter to meet him at Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Park Ave., then called police, who arrested him and recovered a weapon at the scene, the Daily News adds.
