NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Times Square will bid adieu to one of the area's theaters at the end of this year: The 2,100-capacity PlayStation Theater will shut its doors at the end of 2019, Variety reported Tuesday afternoon.

The last hurrah at the theater will be a New Year's series of shows from the Disco Biscuits.

The theater is located at 1515 Broadway in the building that houses Viacom, parent company of the MTV Networks.

The space was previously called the Nokia Theater when it opened in 2005, and then the Best Buy Theater. It's been the PlayStation Theater since 2015.

The theater has had its share of bold-faced names performing there, including Ariana Grande, Rihanna and U2.
