May 19, 2018 - 2:11 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Cops are looking for a brazen young man who pretended to be one of their own before ripping off a man's wallet.

The 64-year-old victim -- who has vision problems -- was trying to find the entrance to the 34th Street subway station, when the suspect said he was a cop and offered to help.

As he led the man into the station, he slipped his hand into the man's pocket and grabbed his wallet.

Later that day, someone charged $500 to the victim's credit card.

The pickpocket is about 5'5" and 150-lbs. He was wearing a blue shirt, black and white pants, and carried a blue backpack.

Detectives investigating the case ask anyone with information to give them a call.
