NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --  The New York City’s Parks Department began putting together a plan to rescue a rare duck spotted at Central Park with a plastic ring around its beak.

Over the weekend, Bradley Kane tweeted the images of  the Common Merganser hen at the Central Park lake suffering over the piece of plastic that is preventing it from eating.

The New York City Parks Department is reportedly rushing to save a rare duck spotted in Central Park gagging on a piece of plastic.

According to a report from The New York Times, several bird-watchers attempted to reach the bird to no avail, and now, park rangers will kayak onto the Central Park Lake to rescue the duck.
