Happy Father's Day weekend to all of the father's out there.

On Thursday afternoon during the Phillies Phestival at Citizens Bank Park, Bryce Harper joined Jon Marks and Ike Reese on 94WIP and got emotional telling a story about his dad.

"People say, 'My dad's my best friend.' I can really say that," Harper said on Thursday. "I talk to him each and every single day. I am very fortunate to come from the family I come from. My dad woke up, blue collar man, every single day. Worked his tail off to provide for us, made sure we had dinner on the table each night. He's my best friend. I get emotional talking about him all of the time. He's somebody that I look up, I've always looked to up, until the day I day. He'll be my hero forever and that's my man."

Harper went on to tell a story of how his father sold a family Winchester rifle passed down from Bryce's grandfather because they needed money. Bryce's dad sold the gun for about $250 even though it was worth more. This offseason, Harper walked up to the guy's house and knocked on the door and said, 'Hey Cal, my dad was Ronnie Harper and I was just wondering if you still have that gun?'

Harper asked if the man would sell it back to him and the guy said, "Absolutely." Harper said he gave him much more than he needed to and gave the Winchester back to his dad for Christmas.
