NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A person was hit by a train in Queens Tuesday morning prompting multiple delays, officials said.

According to the MTA,  at approximately 8:21 a.m., an unauthorized person was struck by a train at the 63 Dr – Rego Park station.

NYPD's Emergency Service Unit responded to the scene and MTA shut off power to the southbound tracks prompting delays on the E, F, M, and R trains in Queens and Manhattan.

Authorities believe the victim was walking on the track or suffering an episode of crisis prior to being hit.

The NYPD said the victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital and is in police custody.
