Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Staten Island

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the Van Duzer Street and Laurel Avenue intersection in the Stapleton section of Staten Island Sunday night, authorities said.

The victim was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton according to an FDNY spokesman.

The victims condition and injuries remain unknown.

An NYPD spokesman did not immediately have information regarding the crash and it is not currently known if the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
