NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A search is underway for the driver of a hit-and-run accident in Harlem on Monday.

Police say just after midnight, a 57-year-old man was trying to cross mid-block in front of 319 Lenox Avenue between 125th and 126th Street when he was struck.

A woman driving a dark-colored Grand Cherokee struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene, officials said.

The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities urge anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
