NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 58-year-old man died nearly a week after a 75-year-old driver had a medical episode, lost control of her car and hit him, the NYPD said.

Ramphal Rampersaud, of Richmond Hill, was in a driveway behind a service entrance at a building on Linden Boulevard, near Rockaway Avenue, in Brownsville around 3:40 p.m on June 10 when a 75-year-old woman driving a Toyota SUV had a medical episode, police said Thursday.

The woman lost control of the SUV and drove into the driveway, hitting Rampersaud, the NYPD said.

Rampersaud was taken to Brookdale Hospital with severe injuries to his torso, according to police. He died six days later, on June 16, the NYPD said.

The Daily News reported that the woman had a diabetic attack before she lost control of her car. She was also taken to the hospital after the crash, and was released in stable condition soon after, police said.

The woman hasn't been arrested or charged in connection with Rampersaud’s death, the NYPD said. An investigation is ongoing.
