NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 49-year-old man is back behind bars for allegedly doing what got him locked up in the first place – robbing banks.

Jamie Frierson was arrested in the Bronx this morning.

He is suspected in the robberies of two banks in the borough last week.

Frierson had served time for several bank jobs almost two years ago.

He was dubbed the Broadway Bandit because many of the banks he robbed were on Broadway in Manhattan, in Union Square, Midtown, the Upper West Side and Harlem, .

His robbery spree had started on Aug. 17, 2017 when he allegedly hit two banks in one day.

He had been on parole.
