Officials apprehend man with gun on Brooklyn rooftop

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --  A man armed with a gun was taken into custody in Brooklyn on Tuesday, officials say.

The incident occurred on Nostrand Avenue and Bergen Street in the Crown Heights section at about 11 a.m., after police received a call just about a man with a gun on a rooftop police say.

Officials from the Emergency Services Unit arrived at the scene where they were able to apprehend the man.

NYPD determined that the firearm in question was a BB gun.

Chief Harry J. Wedin, NYPD Chief of Special Operations tweeted "Great job by #NYPD ESU quickly apprehending a suspect who was reported to be armed with a gun."

There were no injuries reported and charges are pending.
