NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police have arrested a Brooklyn man who they say broke into a home and tried to rape a woman who was sleeping in bed.

Akijah Hall, 24, was arrested on charges of attempted rape, sex abuse, burglary and forcible touching.

The 25-year-old woman was attacked at her home on Grand Street, near Union Avenue, in Williamsburg early Friday morning.

Police said she woke up to find a man in bed with her. They said the man tried to rape the woman but she screamed, alerting her roommate.

The would-be rapist took off but police say he was apprehended Friday night.

The woman didn’t suffer serious physical injuries in the attack, the NYPD said.
