NYPD searches for trio behind mango attack, beating

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police say three men threw a mango at a man at a Bronx supermarket and then beat him when he confronted them.

The NYPD released surveillance video Saturday of the suspects wanted in the fruit attack.

The 67-year-old victim was at a market on White Plains Road, near East 237th Street, in the Wakefield section early Monday morning when he was assaulted by the men, police say.

In video released by police, one of the suspects picks up a mango and throws it into the store at the man.

When the 67-year-old came outside to confront the men, they punched him in the face, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with injuries to his head and face.
