NEW YORK (1010WINS) -- The NYPD is seeking a male in connection with a slashing attack on a woman on an MTA bus in the Bronx late last month.

An 18-year-old woman was traveling on the BX-9 bus on June 26 around 5:30 p.m. when she became involved in a "verbal dispute" with an unidentified male.

"The dispute escalated into a physical altercation leading to the male slashing the female victim in the face, neck and back causing serious lacerations and bleeding," police said in a statement.

The male fled on foot southbound on Webster Avenue in an unknown direction.

EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where she was treated and released for her injuries.

The man police are seeking is black, in his twenties, and last seen wearing a black and white striped shirt and black pants.
