NYPD Says It Has Considerable Evidence In Harvey Weinstein Rape Case

March 08, 2018 - 11:08 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Will Harvey Weinstein soon be in handcuffs?

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said Wednesday that the department has gathered considerable evidence in a rape investigation against Weinstein.

However, it is up to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance as to whether the case goes to a grand jury for possible indictment, Boyce said.

Boyce said investigators have been working with the women who, in the fall, said they were raped by Weinstein and they are ready to go before a grand jury.

Vance has not commented and has only said the investigation is being handled seriously.

Weinstein’s attorneys have said their client has done nothing criminal and reject claims of nonconsensual sex.
