"There may be less hustle and bustle in 'The City That Never Sleeps', but @NYPDTimesSquare were still out protecting after 1am this morning. Great work by keen-eyed cops recovering this illegal gun & narcotics and arresting the individual in possession," NYPD Chief Fausto Pichardo tweeted.

According to the New York Post, officials busted 39-year-old Jameel Hopkins after he left a bag full of drugs and a revolver in the middle of Times Square.

The bag was reportedly found at West 43rd Street and Broadway and officers were able to track Hopkins down after reviewing surveillance footage.

He was arrested just after 1 a.m. just steps from where the bag was picked up, the report adds.

Authorities found at least 80 small packages of drugs and a tarnished .22 caliber revolver with an elongated barrel, police said.

Hopkins was also wanted for a parole violation out in Harrisburg, PA, the New York Post added.
