NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD officer from the 1st Precinct in Tribeca has tested positive for coronavirus, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Seventeen officers from the precinct with flu-like symptoms are being monitored, as well. A total of 31 officers have called out sick in recent days.

“That’s a very large percent of the precinct out sick,” a spokesperson said.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said at an event Tuesday morning that five NYPD employees have tested positive for coronavirus.
