NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD officer who provided security for Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, was arrested Wednesday for dealing cocaine, acting as security for other drug dealers and for receiving bribes.

Ishmael Bailey, 36, of Staten Island was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance, 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy, Bribe Receiving and Official Misconduct, the NYPD announced Thursday

Bailey, a 12-year veteran of the NYPD, is accused of twice meeting with people he believed to be drug dealers — they were really undercover officers, though — and transporting cocaine in different Queens neighborhoods.

At his arraignment on Wednesday, Bailey wept and the judge ordered him held on $50,000 bond and $25,000 cash bail.

If convicted, he faces up to 15 years behind bars.
