NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for five young men who they believe are behind a brutal robbery on a Brooklyn street last week.

The NYPD release surveillance images of five suspects on Sunday. They’re all believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

A 38-year-old man was walking near Chestnut Street and Glenmore Avenue in East New York on Friday evening when he was attacked, police say.

The group pushed the man to the ground before punching and kicking him in the head and body, according to police.

They then stole his wallet and slashed him across the head, police say.

The victim suffered a severe laceration. He was hospitalized and is recovering.

Police say the suspects got away with about $60.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
