NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A New York City man has pleaded guilty to charges of having almost 6,000 photos of children being sexually abused in addition to charges that he had sex with a dog, according to the district attorney’s office.

Queens Acting District Attorney John M. Ryan said that Vishal Lalbeharry, 31, of Jamaica Queens, downloaded a “horrid collection” of photos and videos of both boys and girls from ages 6 months to 10 years old being abused by adults.

Ryan said in a statement, "The images accumulated by this defendant contained some of the most heinous abuse imaginable. It can not be stressed enough - pictures and videos of children being sexually abused are crime scene images and the youngsters are crime victims."

Detectives were able to find Lalbeharry by tracing IP addresses of computers that shared the disturbing material over the internet.

Software used showed his IP address had downloaded 1,150 files with illicit images of kids in March 2018, and as many as 10,240 between March and April.

A search of four laptops, five hard drives, and four cell phones in Lalbeharry's bedroom found 16 videos of him having sex with a dog, says the district attorney’s office.

Lalbeharry faces sentencing on Dec. 11, with a possible term of up to two years in prison in addition to a lifetime on the sex offender registry.
