NYC company recalls raisins for potential to cause life-threatening allergic reactions

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A company based in New York City has recalled raisins that have undeclared sulfites, which have the potential to cause dangerous, life-threatening allergic reactions in some indvidiauls.

Deshi Distributors, based in Jamiaca, Queens, is recalling 3.5 oz, 7 oz, and 14 oz packages of "Golden Raisins" which were sold in four states, including New York and New Jersey.

The raisins have also been sold in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been repoted to date.

Any cusotmers who have purchased these raisins are encouraged to call the company at 718-291-1205.

The issues were found in a routine inspection by the New York State Department of Agriculture.and Markets Food Inspector.
