NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The 4th of July contest at Nathan’s won’t be the only hot dog story in the headlines in the next couple weeks.

Union Pork Store in Union, New Jersey is trying to set the Guiness record for the world’s largest hot dog.

It’s 44.3 pounds and surrounded by a 31 pound bun.

The dog was commissioned by Feltman's of Coney Island, a shop origianlly started 150 years ago, but recently revived historian Michael Quinn.

It will be on display Wednesday afternoon at the Ulysses restaurant in Lower Manhattan.

Slices will be available for a suggested donation of $10.
