Worker, 2 Pedestrians Hurt When Sidewalk Shed Collapses In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A worker and two pedestrians were hurt this weekend when a scaffold came down in Downtown Brooklyn.

Sources told 1010 WINS workers were dismantling a shed outside 50 Court St. in Brooklyn on Saturday.

The worker and two pedestrians suffered minor injuries in the incident on Saturday, sources said.

Inspectors from the Department of Buildings issued an aggravated violation against contractor New Force Construction for failure to safeguard persons and property during construction operations.

The offense carries a fine of up to $25,000, sources said.

The remainder of the shed was reportedly being removed early Sunday.
