NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman is lucky to be alive after being hit by a train in Manhattan Thursday morning.

The 43-year-old woman was struck after she fell off the B/C platform and onto the tracks at the 116th Street station in Harlem.

The woman apparently lost her balance at around 1:30 a.m. and fell down into the well.

Witnesses said she scrambled to get back up but couldn't make it and was struck by an oncoming train.

Medics showed up and removed the woman who was conscious and rushed her off to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Her condition wasn't immediately known.
