NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A mother of three was killed this weekend in a hit-and-run on a New England Thruway exit ramp in the Bronx.

As 1010 WINS’ Roger Stern reported, police said Michelle Muccio was driving home with her 16-year-old daughter from a school event in a GMC Envoy when she was cut off on the New England Thruway exit ramp in Baychester, causing her sport-utility vehicle to flip over.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The 44-year-old woman was killed, and her daughter was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Father-in-law Domenick Muccio made a plea to the other driver.

“Please, turn yourself in. Do me a favor, please. Turn yourself in,” he said. “If it was an accident, we could understand that. But not to just cut somebody off and take a life.”

Michelle Muccio leaves behind a husband and three kids. Her father-in-law said she was a pillar of strength for the family.
