NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A video recently posted on Instagram showed a pit bull violently attacking a woman on a subway train.

As 1010 WINS’ Al Jones reported, there were frantic moments on the crowded subway car as the pit bull grabbed the woman by the shoe and would not let go.

Annnnnd that’s why dogs aren’t allowed on the train (DM me if you shot this video) #subwaycreatures

The dog’s handler could be heard blaming the woman, which did not go over too well with the other straphangers.

Finally the dog released just enough to pull the woman’s shoe off.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said it did not know where or when the video was shot.

“Our rules require non-service animals to be kept inside containers and not disturbing other passengers,” an MTA spokesman said in a statement. “What’s happening in this video is disturbing and a clear violation of our rules.  We flagged this video for NYPD, which is responsible for enforcing transit rules.”
