Griffin, who was a freshman at Cardozo High School, was shooting hoops in the court behind 116-80 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., in the Baisley Park Houses in South Jamaica when he was struck.

Ron Mclerio, Aamir's coach says he was always working on his game.

"It's so sad because he had 60, 70, 80 years of greatness to try to acheive and it'll never happen."

The two people on the surveillance video fled the scene on foot southbound on Lakeview Boulevard East, police say.

Police believe the bullet was fired from far away near the intersection of Foch Blvd. and Long St., a football field’s length from the basketball court.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
