NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police believe they have their suspect in a car break-in spree in an area of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Thirty-two cars were hit in the first 26 days of April, and on April 27, police said made an arrest and said the break-ins suddenly ended.

Detectives told the New York Daily News they nabbed Richard Carmona, 47, after he allegedly used a tire iron on a parked car on Eastern Parkway and Buffalo Avenue.

He was reportedly discovered rummaging through the vehicle, looking for valuables.

Late Sunday, Carmona was being held on charges related to the one case in which he was arrested. His bail was set at $35,000.

The Daily News cited a source as saying Carmona had 64 prior arrests. Records showed he served time behind bars on convictions for stripping cars and selling drugs.
