NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio is reportedly floating the idea of his wife running as the next borough president of Brooklyn -- with a possible Quid pro quo of de Blasio backing current Borough President Eric Adams if Adams runs for mayor next year.

According to a report in the Daily News, with de Blasio's term ending in 2021 and his prospects to being elected to another office dim, having his wife Chirlane McCray elected to BP would keep his family in the spotlight and provide a much needed paycheck.

Sources also told the Daily News de Blasio and Adams met around Christmas to discuss cross endorsements. Spokespeople for both men deny that meeting happened and said that there's no deal between them.

De Blasio has also been meeting with Orthodox Jewish leaders in the borough to gain support for his wife, sources told the Daily News.
