LAKE RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A driver was arrested early Sunday after police said he fled the scene of a car crash with four children in the vehicle in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Suffolk County police said George Campbell, 26, of Calverton was driving a 2004 Infiniti Q56 on Gatelot Avenue when he drove across the front lawns at two houses on School Street.

He then hit a parked, unoccupied 2018 Toyota and drove off around 1:25 a.m., police said.

A Suffolk County police Fourth Precinct patrol officer found Campbell driving with two flat tires and pulled him over on Hawkins Avenue, police said.

Campbell was in the car with his girlfriend and her four children – a 16-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old girl, police said.

No one was injured.

Campbell was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger under Leandra’s Law, driving while ability impaired by drugs and/or alcohol, aggravated unlicensed driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
