SOUTHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (1010 WINS) -- A mansion in Ohio once owned by former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is being turned into a house of worship.

It has been quite a journey for the mansion in Southington Township, Ohio. Tyson bought it at a sheriff’s sale in 1989 for $300,000, and sold it $1.3 million to an infomercial entrepreneur who ended up in federal prison in 2007 on a money laundering conviction.

The mansion was then sold at another sheriff’s sale at $600,000, and donated to the Living Word Sanctuary Church – which is converting the 10,000 square-foot indoor pool room into a sanctuary, the Warren Tribune-Chronicle reported.

Other rooms will be turned into offices, classrooms, and a space for a nursery.

The mansion also has cages inside where Tyson kept four tigers. The cages have been dismantled.
