NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- If the number of vegan restaurants is a metric for determining how healthy a neighborhood is, then Manhattan has some pretty healthy hoods.

There are 48 vegan or vegetarian restaurants in Midtown South alone.

If the holiday splurge has your belly busting through your jeans, Nina Furseth of RentHop.com, tells 1010 WINS it's pretty easy to get back in shape these days. "It's even easier if you live somewhere where a gym or healthy restaurant is close by."

RentHop ranks the city's healthiest neighborhoods according to number of gyms, yoga studios and healthy restaurants.

One man told 1010 WINS' reporter John Montone there is also a gym on every corner and vegetable stands on every street. That man, however, grabbed a danish for breakfast, Montone reported.

However, there's also a Papaya stand where Babu the counter man said the food is pretty healthy also. "Philly Cheesesteak, fries and drink," he said.

You sure about that, Babu?
