Burglar climbed down fire escape, stole $15k in loot from UES apartment

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a burglar who stole $15,000 worth of goods from an Upper East Side apartment on Monday.

At about 3 p.m., police say a man entered an apartment building at the corner of E. 84th St. and 1st Ave. He walked up the rooftop, climbed down the fire escape, and threw a brick through a 5th floor window. Once in that apartment, he stole $2,500 in electronics, $7,000 in jewelry, $5,500 in clothing, and $350 in cash before fleeing down the fire escape. 

Police describe the man as a Hispanic man with medium build, last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, maroon pants, and black boots.
