NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One man was killed and another was injured this weekend in a shooting in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

As 1010 WINS’ Roger Stern reported, one person who was near 909 Mother Gaston Blvd. at the time heard two shots around 6:42 p.m. Saturday.

Stephon Henry, 19, was struck at least once in the torso and was pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, police said.

Another 19-year-old man was found with a graze wound to the back and was also taken to Brookdale. He was expected to recover.

Henry’s uncle on Sunday was trying to come to terms with what happened.

“He’s a good person. He’s not a bad person. You understand me? We really don’t know the situation that caused him to lose his life, you know? But you know, we are here for him still, you know?” the uncle said.

The New York Daily News reported there was a quarrel between two rival factions that led to the shooting.

A witness said a quarrel erupted over a girl Saturday evening, about whether she was being treated respectfully.

No arrests had been made Sunday and the investigation continued.

Police were out keeping the peace Sunday afternoon, making sure the shooting does not lead to more violence.
