Brooklyn Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing Boy, 15

April 25, 2018 - 7:59 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Brooklyn teacher stood accused Wednesday of sexually abusing a 15-year-old student.

Andre Braddy, 34, teaches mathematics at Lenox Academy, P.S. 235 in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Police told 1010 WINS the victim, a 15-year-old boy who attends the school, told his parents about the sexual relationship. His parents then alerted police, the NYPD said.

It was not clear whether the boy disclosed the relationship to his parents before or after they allegedly found inappropriate content on his cellphone. Published reports said the content included texts, videos and pictures of the teacher.

Braddy is charged with criminal sex acts, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and third-degree criminal sex abuse, police said.

With detectives on either side, Braddy was hauled out of the NYPD Brooklyn Special Victims Unit late Wednesday, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.

A Department of Education representative called the allegations “deeply disturbing” and said Braddy was immediately removed from the school.
