NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 85-year-old woman was killed and her 90-year-old husband was critically injured Tuesday when a sport-utility vehicle struck them outside a car wash in Marine Park, Brooklyn.

The man and woman were standing behind their Honda outside a car wash on Avenue U, inspecting the damage from a rear-end collision, when a worker driving a Jeep Liberty lost control of the vehicle.

The car wash worker plowed into the couple and their Honda. He backed  up and hit the woman and the Honda two more times.

A witness said the woman’s legs were severed.

“I saw the guy passing over the lady, and when they went back and forth,” said the witness, Victor.

The woman -- identified as Joan Tornabene -- died, while her husband was in critical condition late Tuesday at NYU Lutheran Medical Center.

The driver remained at the scene and has not been charged. Police are treating the incident as a horrible accident.
