NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Connecticut woman fell asleep behind the wheel on I-684 in Westchester County on Wednesday, injuring three children.

Maribel Mota, 49, of Waterbury, was driving her Toyota Corolla in Bedford, N.Y. when she fell asleep behind the wheel just after 11 a.m, according to New York State Police. The car veered between the two guardrails before spinning and overturning.

Three children, ages 16, 12 and 8, were sitting in the backseat without seatbelts. All sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The 16-year-old and 8-year-old were ejected from the car when it rolled. The 12-year-old remained in the vehicle.

The driver and the front seat passenger, Maria Mota, 29, were both wearing seatbelts and sustained only minor injuries.

I-684 was closed for several hours after the incident.
