1 Man Shot Dead, 2 Others Wounded Blocks Apart In Queens

May 28, 2018 - 3:09 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A deadly shooting was under investigation Monday afternoon in Queens.

As 1010 WINS’ Al Jones reported, the pop-pop of gunfire brought Sonia Sultana and her daughter to the front stoop.

“Just got outside from my home and I saw some police cars, and my daughter thought that there was a movie shooting going on,” Sultana said.

But it was real life.

Police said a 27-year-old man was shot and killed on 104th Street near 107th Avenue, just minutes from an apparent car crash a few blocks away on 111th Street late Monday morning.

A gun was found in the car, along with a man who had a gunshot wound to his finger, police said.

It was not clear Monday afternoon whether the two incidents were related.

Meanwhile, a third man also walked into Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back.

Another woman, Liza, lives just across the street from the first shooting scene.

“I’m just scared, because I’ve been here for many years and it’s getting worse,” she said.

There had been no arrests as of late Monday afternoon.
