NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One man was killed and another critically injured in a shooting in broad daylight Thursday in the Bronx.

As 1010 WINS’ Al Jones reported, shell casings were left scattered on the street, and a white T-shirt was turned bright crimson with blood at the scene of the fatal midday shooting.

A witness said there were eight to 10 people gathered in front of 1728 Crotona Park East when words were exchanged and gunfire then rang out around 1 p.m.

A 22-year-old was hit in the head and a 20-year-old was shot in the chest. Both were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, and the 22-year-old was dead on arrival.

Police believe the shooter fled in a white Nissan sedan.
