State Trooper Killed Responding To Domestic Incident

A New York State trooper was killed early Monday morning while responding to a domestic violence call south of Corning, near the Pennsylvania state line. 

Officials said a suspect was also killed during the incident.

New York State Police identifed the officer as Nicholas F. Clark, 29, of Troupsburg, N.Y. He is survived by his mother, father and brother.

"On Monday, July 2, in the early morning hours Trooper Clark, the Stueben Country Sheriff’s Office and Corning Police Department responded to a call of a suicidal subject barricaded at a residence at 10041 Welch Road in the town of Erwin, Stueben County. During the incident response, Trooper Clark was shot and killed," New York State Police posted on its Facebook page.
