NEW YORK (1010 WINS) —A newly appointed MTA board member says fare beaters ought to be “publicly shamed.”

Sarah Feinberg told members of the bus and transit committee, “I would like to see us capturing this behavior on camera and posting it publicly.”

Feinberg says, “When people are publicly embarrassed by this kind of behavior, it helps address it.”

Gov. Cuomo chose Feinberg to fill a recent vacancy on the MTA board.

She says the governor’s announced crackdown on fare evasion and transit violence has been “a long time coming.”
