NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Think Joey Chestnut will win this year's hot dog eating contest? Don't bet on it.

The annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will be held on July 4 in Coney Island.

Chestnut, a speed eating superstar, is highly favored to win for the fourth year in a row.

But don't count on betting on the competition -- unless you make a friendly wager with friends.

New Jersey gaming enforcement has rejected a request to allow sportsbooks to take bets.

Last year, Chestnut beat out 20 competitors consuming a personal record of 74 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
