New Jersey school closed for cleanup after mold found in classrooms, auditorium

September 10, 2018 - 7:35 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Students in New Jersey got a couple of unscheduled days off and it's not because of the weather.

Mold was discovered in two classrooms and the auditorium at the Mount Olive middle school last week.

Acting district superintendent Susan Breton wrote parents and said tests show the mold isn't life-threatening but it could cause respiratory problems. Therefore, the school will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for cleanup.

All other schools in the district remain open.
