New Jersey residents hit the shore to say goodbye to summer

BELMAR, NJ (1010 WINS) -- If you're like most people you're no doubt relieved that summer is finally coming to an end -- well nobody really wants that, actually most could probably use a few more months.

We won't get that, but things are starting to cool off a little. It is going to stay humid through the weekend with showers on Saturday and a fair amount of clouds. As we get into Sunday and Monday will see some more sunshine giving temperatures a boost into the 80s, there may be a shower or thunderstorm each day, but most of the time we should be rain free -- some areas may not see rain at all.

Down the shore they'll have to get along as best they can as another summer reaches its unofficial end.

Anna was spreading sun block with one hand and swatting flies with another.

"We come here, I come here with my friends and we try to enjoy the beach," she said.

Bad news, it's over.

"Oh well, there's always next year," she said.

Say it ain't so.
