August 24, 2018 - 8:52 am

PARAMUS, NJ (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey could be about a month away from a vote to legalize the recreational use of marijuana.

The legislature would do the voting, not the people per se -- who seem to be of mixed minds on the matter.

Pro-pot politicians in Trenton are declaring a win in the war for weed, but Jeff from Saddle River said buyer beware.

"Generally it's a little more enhanced now because of the chemicals they use to make it a little stronger," he said.

Ellen from Washington Township said it's better than dealing with dealers.

"People who buying from the streets, you don't know what is there," she said.

Allison from Fair Lawn admits to being cannabis conflicted.

"It's not as though it's heroin or cocaine or meth or crystal meth or any of these things," she said.

The weed-be-gone crowd hasn't given up yet, a grass roots movement has gotten sales banned in two dozen towns.
