Forty-seven percent of the adults who responded to a Yahoo News/YouGov poll taken on May 4 and 5 said they felt Obama’s response to the coronavirus crisis would have been better than President Donald Trump’s response, Yahoo! News reported Thursday.

Twenty-four percent of the respondents said the crisis would be “the same” regardless of the country’s leadership, while 29 percent said it would have been worse under Obama, according to the outlet.

The poll took political party into account, finding that “79 percent of Democrats say Obama would have made things better while 67 percent of Republicans say he would have made things worse,” the outlet reported.

Thirty-five percent of Americans, meanwhile, said they felt Trump “deserve(d) most” of the blame for the spread of coronavirus in the U.S., while 19 percent said they felt he deserved “some” of the blame, according to the outlet.
