On Anniversary Of Son’s Death, Eric Garner’s Mother Repeats Call For Action

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Tuesday marks four years since the death of Eric Garner, and the NYPD is now moving ahead with disciplinary proceedings against Officer Daniel Panteleo.

Garner's dying gasp 'I can't breathe' will not soon be forgotten, but a grand jury didn't indict Panteleo in the alleged chokehold death, and the justice department has never come to a conclusion.

The NYPD says if the feds don't finish by September 1, it will begin its own disciplinary hearing.

Garner's mother is demanding action.

"Please move forward on this and fire those officers, all of them, not just Panteleo. We want them all fired," she said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio told NY1, it's time to put this behind us.

PBA President Pat Lynch called the DOJ investigation a 'fishing expedition.' In a statement, Lynch said the PBA is confident Panteleo will be vindicated.
